As a former journalist for Spanish-language television in Houston, Texas, the translation of documents, scripts, and interviews has been the backbone of my day-to-day delivery. Furthermore, in my role as a marketing communication professional, I have been involved in many public relations campaigns that were created in English while my sole responsibility was to adapt to the Spanish-language market and execute it using radio, television and print media.
For the past year, I have been actively delivering over-the-phone (OPI) and on-site interpretation services for several agencies. The assignments have serviced clients in the health care industry, insurance, banking, legal and government entities.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in English Communications Arts from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas and I am currently working towards obtaining my Court Interpreter License from the Texas Judicial Branch Certification Commission (JBBC).
Experience with Microsoft Word; Excel; PowerPoint; Siteimprove; Cision; Meltwater; Mailchimp, Constant Contact; Final Cut Pro; Hootsuite.
My experience centers on the creation of marketing communications strategies for educational and non-profit organizations. I have served as director of communications at large operations serving the Hispanic, Spanish-language market. For the past six months, I have served as an interpreter for several organizations in various fields.
I am a Licenced Court Interpreter Candidate with an oral exam date coming up on August 2020.
My mission is to deliver exceptional interpretation services and facilitate communication between limited English proficiency parties and companies offering goods or services. My objective is to guarantee full understanding and an equal representation from both parties regardless of the language barrier.
